The EUPHIX content has earlier been divided into ‘Topics’ and ‘Themes’ (see the Work Plan). For several reasons, we have now decided to change the name ‘Topic’ into ‘EUphact’ and ‘Theme’ into ‘EUphocus’ .

These terms combine the acronyms EU (European Union) and PH (public health) with ‘fact’ or ‘focus’. The notion of a fact and a focus corresponds to the idea of basic information versus an interest-oriented selection of the information. The new terms have now been implemented elsewhere in the Work-in-Progress site.

Along the work on EUphacts and EUphoci, we will work on the implementation of the ECHI indicators with data, in addition. The inclusion of ECHI indicators has been foreseen for EUphacts from the very beginning. However, creating a separate line of indicator data without any further interpretation suits a particular need of DG SANCO and creates a starting point for future EUphacts.
